EDDIE Pepperell missed the cut at the second of two consecutive tournaments in Australia.

The Frilford Heath member first missed out at the Australian PGA Championship, at the end of last month, and he followed that up at the Australian Open in Sydney.

The 32-year-old holed three birdies and three bogeys during the first round at The Lakes Golf Club, and he finished one-under par on day two at The Australian Golf Club, after holing three birdies and two bogeys.

The Australian Open was won by the Chilean golfer Joaquin Niemann via a play-off.

Niemann and Rikuya Hoshino both finished 14-under par, and it was the former who was triumphant in the head-to-head, winning via the second play-off hole.

Hoshino also finished second at the Australian PGA Championship.
