EDDIE Pepperell put in a solid display to finish eight shots behind Mallorca Golf Open winner Yannik Paul.

Frilford Heath member Pepperell finished 30th in Mallorca, seven-under par.

A frustrating round one saw him hole four bogeys and just two birdies, leaving him two-over par.

However, a much more pleasing second round included an eagle on the 10th hole, and half a dozen birdies, putting him six-under par for the round.

Three birdies and a single bogey in round three followed, before rounding off the tournament with three more birdies and a couple of bogeys.

German golfer Paul won the Mallorca Open, taking 269 shots, to finish 15-under par and claim his first DP World Tour title.

For Pepperell, his performance in Mallorca follows on from a strong 13th-placed finish at the Acciona Open de Espana in Madrid.

The 31-year-old rounded off the tournament 12 shots behind winner Jon Rahm, with the home favourite securing a third Spanish Open title.

Pepperell is next in action at the Portugal Masters, which begins tomorrow and runs until Sunday.
