NATHAN Harrison shot up to the top of the standings of the Mini Challenge Championship after a meeting of mixed emotion at Rockingham.
The Oxford racer, who drives a Mini in the JCW class, won the first race but was forced to settle for third after he was docked five seconds for a mid-race tangle with Brett Smith.
He finished a disappointing fourth in the second of three races, which ensured a third-place slot on the grid for the final race.
Harrison finished on a high after winning the last race, which was tightly-contested, securing a second win of the season.
It helped him regain the championship lead ahead of the next round at Brands Hatch on July 16-17.
SEAN Walkinshaw is champing at the bit to pick up where he left off in the Blancpain Endurance Cup.
The season resumes today after a five-week break with the Paul Ricard 1000km.
And after picking up his first Pro-Am points on home soil at Silverstone, Chipping Norton’s Walkinshaw is aiming to make his mark.
He said: “Paul Ricard should be fantastic. I’m really looking forward to being back there and getting in the Nissan to see what we can do in the six-hour.”
The race will get underway at six pm local time.
