OXFORDSHIRE have made four changes for their important Middleton Cup crunch against South Section B leaders Surrey at Oxford City & County on Saturday (2pm).

In the campaign so far, Oxon defeated Bucks before losing narrowly to Berkshire, so cannot afford another defeat if they are to progress.

Coming in are David Leafield (Chipping Norton), Jason King (Headington), Chris Weller (Witney Mills) and City & County’s Paul Comley.

They replace Chris Gilkes, George Schwab, Mick Nash and Melvin Brain.

Wholesale changes were not expected after their seven-shot defeat by Berkshire, especially as Oxon won on three of the six rinks and drew on another.

Only skip Ray Gaskins’s rink is unchanged, while there are two changes to Mark Charlett’s four, who lost by 15 shots.
