DRAYTON’S Emily Wadsworth took on Europe’s best riders in the UEC Mountain Bike European Championships in Sweden, finishing 13th.

The John Mason School pupil, who races for Oxford-based Beeline Bicycles, was selected for the five-strong Great Britain team, competing in the junior women’s race.

Going up against racers from the powerhouse nations of France, Switzerland and Italy, the 17-year-old performed well to claim a top-20 finish.

Currently part of the Great Britain junior mountain bike academy programme, Wadsworth’s next goal is to move into the senior full-time academy next year.
