JONJOE Kenny is set to miss Oxford United's Easter fixtures after being called up for England Under 19s.

The full back, on loan from Everton, is in the squad which will play three games in the Elite Round of the UEFA U19s European Championship.

They face games against Georgia, Greece and hosts Spain between March 24 and 29.

It rules Kenny out of United's Good Friday clash with Stevenage at the Kassam Stadium and the trip to Cambridge United on Easter Monday.

U's head coach Michael Appleton was expecting the news and will now check on the progress of Sam Long, who has been struggling with a hip problem.

If the defender from Bicester is not ready it would leave the side short of defensive cover, which Appleton admitted last week could see him delve into the loan market for a short-term solution.

Elsewhere, Lucy Thomas has received a call-up to present England Women's Under 16s.

They are playing in a UEFA Development Tournament at Loughborough University next month.

England will play three matches, against the Czech Republic on April 5, before facing Italy and Denmark.
