Jack Brooks made it third time lucky at last night’s Oxfordshire Sports Awards.
The England Lions cricketer, who started his career with Tiddington, had twice before made the shortlist.
But he saw off Bradley Smith and Zac Payne to land the sportsman of the year honour after helping Yorkshire to a second successive County Championship title.
Oxford United goalkeeper Demi Lambourne picked up the sportswoman accolade.
Jade O’Dowda secured the highly-competitive junior sportsperson award after winning the national under 17 heptathlon championships.
