Banbury's hopes of reaching the South East Area semi-finals of the Nat West Club T20 competition were ended in a dramatic bowl-out against Gerrards Cross.

Heavy and persistent rain led to the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League T20 finals day at Banbury being relocated to Blessed George Napier Catholic School’s sports hall.

The winner would therefore be decided from three bowl-outs.

Banbury and Gerrards Cross advanced from the semi-finals with victories against Reading and Slough respectively.

And the final went to sudden death after Banbury captain Luke Ryan levelled for 3-3 in the final round.

After four balls each, the sides still couldn’t be separated, but Lloyd Sabin missed the stumps for Banbury and Gerrards Cross sealed victory.
