ALAN Ley, who has played more than 800 outdoor games for Oxfordshire, made his county indoor debut and inspired the side to a 105-89 win over Worcestershire.

The Oxford City & County veteran was brought into the side along with Chris Cox and Tony Backer-Holst to try to boost the team after a poor run of results.

The move paid off handsomely, as Ley skipped a rink, which included Cox at No 3, to a 21-13 win.

The match, a friendly held at Malvern, also saw Dennis Crook awarded his full county badge.
