Oxfordshire eased past Norfolk 3-0 in the ESFA Under 16 Inter County Trophy semi-final on Oxford City’s 3G pitch.
They now face Durham, who beat Greater Manchester 1-0 at Manchester City’s Etihad Campus, in the final on a date to be arranged.
Oxon survived a strong penalty appeal when Joe Whittington threw himself at the feet of an onrushing forward, before Luke Quarterman escaped punishment for pulling an opponent’s shirt as he tried to race clear.
However, Oxfordshire took the lead just before half-time when Sam Beaumont fired home the rebound after Horatio Hirst’s shot was blocked by keeper Robbie Evennett.
Oxon dominated the second half, and increased their lead with a powerful header from man of the match Canice Carroll following a Kei Chamberlain corner.
The hosts sealed victory when Hirst collected a clearance just inside the Norfolk half, and beat the only defender before shooting home.
l City of Oxford College striker Kaylem Patterson came on as a late substitute as England Under 18s opened their Centenary Shield campaign with a 2-0 win over Wales at Truro City.
Patterson, who now joins up with the squad for their clash with Northern Ireland at Eastleigh on Friday, said: “It was a good experience and it was obviously good to win, but it was a bit frustrating not playing for longer.”
l Vale of White Horse Under 14s swept aside Cheltenham 8-3 in the Vale Cup at Milton United.
Jack Stevens, with a brace including a penalty, James Stewart (2), Harry Thomas, Chris Mortimore, Drew Chester and Luke Hayward scored for Vale.
