OXFORD Hawks completed the double over Lewes with a 1-0 victory in their South League Premier Division 1 contest at Banbury Road North on Saturday.

Despite some physical tackling from Lewes, Hawks created a number of chances in the first half, but were unable to beat the visiting keeper.

Hawks created opportunities in the second half.

Ethan Chapman flashed one past a post before Kit Cutter picked up a loose ball in the D to win the game with his ninth goal of the season.

Oxford Hawks 2nd stay five points clear in Middlesex Berks Bucks & Oxon Regional 1 with a hard-earned 3-1 success away to in-form Wallingford.

The hosts had won their previous five matches in 2015, but could not match the leaders, whose goals came from Thomson Harris, Matt Janes and Ben Roe.

Ed Allen had opened the scoring for Wallingford, who suffered their sixth loss of the season.

Bicester doubled their lead in the first half through Stu Locke’s short corner deflection, but only some fine saves from keeper Peter Bowen enabled them to retain their unbeaten home record as Thame rallied after the break.

Their under 12 team won every game, including a 2-1 success over Oxford Hawks in the final, while Oxford Under 10s beat Wallingford on sudden-death penalties to claim their crown.
