With their closest rivals in cup action, Carterton Town A increased their lead at the top of the Witney & District FA Premier Division to eight points with a 3-1 home win over bottom club Brize Norton, writes ANTHONY BARLOW.

Brize Norton took the lead through Dan Frizzell, but Jason Lonsdale scored twice to turn the tide and Michael Duerden sealed victory.

Chipping Norton also had to come from behind in their 4-1 home win over Charlbury.

The visitors took the lead through an own goal, but the hosts were soon back in control courtesy of a brace from Warwick Thompkins, including one penalty.

Combe’s Ethan Penney scored twice from the spot in a 2-2 draw at high-flying rivals Bourton Rovers in Division 1.

Rob DeBanks bagged a brace of penalties for FC Mills in a 2-2 home draw with fellow strugglers Enstone. Gareth Wessels scored both Enstone goals.

Hanborough Res remain rooted to the foot of the table after going down 2-0 to Witney Wanderers.

Tom Gregory and Stuart Morrison were the Wanderers scorers.
