SHOPPERS and motorists were left bemused as nannies with babies in prams tore down the road.
The ‘babies’ were decked out in ribbons, mob caps and nighties, complete with dummies and rattles.
It was the day of the annual Cowley pram race along Barns Road, part of Cowley community centre’s carnival.
Pictured are the winners of the 1974 race, ‘baby’ Ruth Racey and ‘nanny’ Tony Hayes, clad in wig, dress and rolled-up trousers.
