AN elderly man has denied the sexual abuse, including rape, of two children under the age of 14.

David Kuca, of New Road, East Hagbourne, appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday (May 2) charged with 14 child sex offences.

The 79-year-old is accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in the late 1990’s and a 13-year-old girl in the mid-2010’s.

Appearing in the dock wearing a black suit, Kuca pleaded not guilty to four counts of indecent assault of a girl under 14 between 1995 and 2001, one count of indecency with a child between 1996 and 1998, five counts of assault a child by penetration between 2013 and 2015, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity between 2013 and 2015, one count of the rape of a child between 2013 and 2015, and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual activity between 2013 and 2014.

The two girls cannot be named for legal reasons.

Kuca also denied three counts of making indecent images of a child after allegedly being caught with one Category A image, eight Category B images, and seven Category C images.

A trial date has now been set for April 28 next year. It is estimated to take about 10 days.

He has been granted conditional bail until that date.
