Another 179 homes will be delivered at a development in Didcot with almost a quarter set to be affordable housing.

Planning consent for the latest collection of homes at Nobel Park, more than 22 per cent of which will be affordable, has been granted by South Oxfordshire District Council.

Construction work is due to commence in the spring.

Cala and its sister brand Legal and General Homes have achieved planning consent for 455 homes across phases one, two, and four of the Nobel Park development so far.

With phase six now approved, Legal and General Homes will extend the collection to 634 homes.

The new homes will include one and two bed apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses.

The Nobel Park development will benefit from a secondary school, a further primary school, a neighbourhood centre, a new sports pavilion, shops and a community centre.

Charles Rafferty, land director at Cala Cotswolds, said: "We are thrilled to announce the approval of our latest phase, consisting of 179 new homes.

"These homes will be complemented by open green spaces and play areas which are already enjoyed by our existing residents.

"Our dedication goes beyond constructing homes; it extends to fostering a thriving and interconnected neighbourhood and we look forward to our continued work with the local community."
