A £100,000 grant has been secured to replace a water park in Oxford.

The funding, awarded by FCC Communities Foundation, a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects, will support Oxford City Council in transforming the splash park at Hinksey Park.

In addition to a new seasonal splash play area, plans include a 'learn and play' track for balance bikes and scooters aimed at younger children.

The 'Little Wheels' track will open in autumn, while the updated splash section will launch in spring 2025.

The project has a total estimated cost of £330,000, with the council providing the remaining funds.

FCC grant manager, Cheryl Raynor said: "This is an exciting and ambitious project, and we are delighted to be supporting the council to bring it to fruition."
