A finance chief has given the green light to plans for the near-£2.8 million refurbishment of a primary school.
Oxfordshire County Council's Liberal Democrat cabinet member for finance, Dan Levy, was recommended to approve construction of a new hall at Bloxham Church of England Primary School in north Oxfordshire.
Renovations to the establishment come after phased expansions over previous years to match rising demand for school places.

In approving the construction at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Mr Levy said: "I hope it gets built in time on the revised budget and the pupils enjoy their new hall."
The proposed hall will be erected adjacent to the main entrance at the school.
Its design of red brick will be similar visually to the existing school building.
Construction is scheduled to kick off in early 2024, with completion taking roughly a year.
Liz Clutterbrook, head of major projects for the county council, described the occasion of approval as "short and sweet".
John Howson, cabinet member for children, education and young people’s Services, said: "These are exciting plans for Bloxham Church of England Primary School, reflecting our commitment to provide a top class learning and teaching environment for Oxfordshire’s children."
The Bloxham primary school is in Tadmarton Road and it educates pupils aged 5-11.
