FINE art students from Ruskin College in Oxford have been showing off their work at an end-of-year degree show.

Those taking part included Lucy Gregon, whose work was entitled Kinetic Sculpture, and Ruth Smith, who displayed her mixed media installation about allotments.

Callum Cooke, 20, also revealed his work at the degree show at the studio in Bullingdon Road, East Oxford, which finished this week.

Mr Cooke said his untitled installation was designed to "create intimacy between the work and the viewer."

He added: "There's a built-in sensor so if you put your hand on the table the lights come on and then you can read the text displayed on the walls.

"There were 24 undergraduate students showing their work and 10 masters students so it was very busy.

"Lots of people came in to have a look round and see the artwork - the degree show was a good way of getting some exposure and getting noticed.

"Ruskin has been a great place to do a fine art degree - the staff have been very encouraging - they have all been amazing."

Mr Cooke, whose uses the name 'Callym' for his artworks, said he looked forward to continuing his career in fine art.
