PUPILS at Headington School have won awards for a dance performance at a national competition.
They were competing in the Rock Challenge, which encourages youngsters to take part in adrenaline-laden arts as an alternative to using tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
For their performance of 'Lost Boys’, inspired by J M Barrie’s well-known tale of Peter Pan, they won Rock Challenge Award for Achievement in Drug Awareness.
Alongside other schools, they were also given the Be Your Best Foundation Award of Excellence for Soundtrack, the Global Rock Challenge Award of Excellence for Entertainment and the Hampshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team Award of Excellence for Lighting.
The event, held at Portsmouth Guildhall, attracted a large audience and was supported by police and council drugs teams.
